Welcome to the CUPL Procedural Law Institute

CUPL Procedural Law Institute founded in October 1999 is a new type of comprehensive research institution. It is the only research entity specialized in procedural law that has been selected as one of China top 100 Institutes of Humanities and Social Sciences of General Colleges and Universities.
       The Institute is a project-center research entity and is in charge of the Dean. The Institute encompasses four academic research centers (Criminal Procedure Law Research Center, Civil Procedure Law Research Center , Administrative Procedure Law Research Center, Evidence Law Research Center) and other five organs (Academic Committee, Journal Editorial Office of Procedural Law Research and Cases and Discussions on Procedure, Reference Center, Office of Administrative Affairs, as well as Procedural Law of China Network).
       The features of the Institute are implementing project-center appointment system and initially forming an integrated operation mechanism of "production, learning and research" with open-ended institution, rational flow of researcher and competitive innovation. Besides, the Institute has a large assembly of research force with reasonable echelons from different universities and nations. The Institute is also equipped with rich reference materials, especially monographs and journals with procedural law and latest trend of legislation and theoretical research overseas. Experts of the Institute have participate in law drafting and revising for many times.
       Since 1999, the full-time researchers in the Institute have published more than 90 academic works and 500 papers. The Institute has also undertaken plenty of research projects and more than 20 of them were awarded by ministry and the nation. The Institution made great contribution to national legislation as well. More than 20 legislation, including Criminal Procedure Law, Civil Procedure Law, Administrative Procedure Law, Legislative Law, Administrative Punishment Law, Administrative Reconsideration Law, National Compensation Law, Bankruptcy Law, Arbitration Law, Notarization Law And Maritime Special Procedure Law, have been drafted and revised with the participation of experts from the Institute.Besides, the Institute has organized national academic seminars on procedural law several times, and established extensive cooperation with practical departments through projects cooperation and other forms. Likewise, experts of the Institute have been invited to give lectures abroad and attend international academic conferences for tens of times. They have conducted academic exchanges with experts form more than 20 countries, such as the Great Britain, the United States, France, Germany and Japan, and established relatively stable academic cooperation relations with institutions in many nations. The Institute has become a major academic base for external exchange of the discipline.
       The mission of the Institute is to build a base with the function of procedural law researching, talent training, academic exchanging, reference collecting and information consulting. The development goal of the Institute is to maintain the national first-class academic research status, play an active role of organization and coordination in the field of procedural law, become the national academic exchange center of the procedural law and evidence law, and build the only research base in China with great international influence.
